Jiu Jitsu Feels Intimidating Before You Even Start
A lot of people are curious about it.
They've heard it's one of the best forms of self-defense. Maybe they've watched a few videos or talked to someone who trains. And then... they don't go.
- It looks complicated, like there's too much to learn
- You worry about feeling lost or out of place
- You're not sure if you're in shape enough to start
- The idea of rolling around with people feels uncomfortable
- Some schools feel too intense or too focused on competition or fighting
So instead, you stick with the gym routine or you simply stop looking for something else.
Jiu Jitsu Made Simple and Practical
We're not a pure Jiu Jitsu school. And that's a good thing for most adults.
Our goal isn't to turn you into a competitor or overwhelm you with every detail. It's to give you a solid, practical base on the ground so you know how to defend yourself if you ever need to.
You'll learn the fundamentals, step by step, in structured classes that also include striking and other types of self-defense. So every time you come in, you're building a well-rounded skill set to become a well-rounded Martial Artist. We believe in training smart, keeping it approachable, and making sure everyone can enjoy it at their own level.
Safety and respect always come first in training, no matter what.
What You Start to Notice
Everyone is nervous when they first start training. It will feel intimidating, challenging, and even awkward at times. But getting out of your comfort zone is where real growth happens.
- ✓
You become more comfortable being in close situations
- ✓
You understand how to control positions instead of panicking
- ✓
You feel more confident knowing you can handle yourself on the ground
- ✓
You start feeling stronger both physically and mentally
- ✓
You quickly become a part of the community and start learning your teammates by their names
It's not about mastering everything. It's about knowing enough to feel confident, capable, and in control of yourself.
Such a fantastic place! Josh and Lauren make you feel like you've been part of the family from the minute you first walk in.
The training is fantastic! Everything is calculated to where you learn first and then apply second so you never feel like you are behind.
I'd give this 10 stars if I could!

"I'm a 53-year-old male. Life gets in the way and before you know it, 30 years has passed. Hybrid Martial Arts has given me the opportunity to get active again at my own pace. Wish I had started 30 years ago."

Regular Memberships
Consistency is where the real change happens. The kind you'll start noticing in how you feel, move, and carry yourself. Choose whichever commitment works for you, and know that the rate you see here is the rate you'll pay, nothing added later.
no long-term commitment
saves $15 every cycle
our best value for members ready to commit
Every rate is right here so you never have to call around or sit through a sales pitch to find out what training costs. If you notice we're priced higher than most schools nearby, it's because small classes and coaches who know every student by name take real investment to deliver well, and we're not willing to cut corners on that. Numbers can only tell you so much though, so come try a class and feel the difference for yourself, at no cost and with zero pressure to decide anything afterward.

I'm not in great shape and want to "get ready" for training

I don't want to get hurt.

Good! Most people haven't. That's what we are here to teach you. No experience is needed to get started.
I feel a little intimidated trying something like this.
That's completely normal. A lot of people feel that way before their first class. We have had adults sit in the car too nervous to step in our doors before. Just take that first step :)
“I tell everybody, it's the best group of people you'll ever meet. Everybody is so nice, so friendly and so helpful. Whether you've been doing it for years or you're just starting, everybody is so willing to help you.”
