About Us

More Than Just a Martial Arts School

We're not here just to run classes. We're here to help people grow as Martial Artists.

For some, that means gaining confidence for the first time. For others, it means finding structure, focus, and consistency. For kids, it means learning discipline, respect, and how to believe in themselves.

Every class is built around one goal: helping our students become the best versions of themselves - both on and off the mat.

Learn
Martial arts skills and self-defense is at the core of what we do.
Grow
Physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger — one class at a time.
Thrive
Both on and off the mat. What you build here carries over into everything else. That is what makes Martial Arts so powerful.
The Problem

Most Martial Arts Schools Lean Too Far One Way

If you've looked into martial arts before, you've probably seen it. There are really only two types of places, and most people have walked away from both of them unsatisfied.

Too Intense

Students are pushed hard from day one, but there's no real structure or guidance behind it. It feels more chaotic and intimidating than challenging. You leave wondering if you're actually learning anything, or just surviving the class.

Too Easy

Everything is simplified to the point where it stops feeling useful or practical. You don't actually feel your confidence in your self-defense growing. It might feel safe, but after a few weeks you start wondering what you're actually getting out of it.

Neither one works. Most people, and most parents, are looking for the same thing: real growth in a place that doesn't feel intimidating to walk into. That's what we are building right now.

The Approach

Structure Over Intimidation

Confidence and discipline aren't built through pressure or aggression. They're built through structure and accountability.

This applies whether it's a child stepping onto the mat for the first time, or an adult coming back to training after years away. Your environment helps create the results you are looking for.

Our Motto

Discipline is Created Through Structure

📋

Every class has a clear plan and purpose

Nobody walks in wondering what's happening today. Our rotating curriculum has a clear progression and purpose for every class.

🎯

Students know what they're working on and why

Understanding the purpose behind each technique makes the learning stick. And this competency helps build your confidence.

🤝

Coaches guide, correct, and support every step

One of the common pain points we hear is students getting lost in big classes. At Hybrid, we keep classes smaller so everyone gets the right attention.

📈

Progress is intentional, not random

Every class improves your life by at least 1%. Small, consistent gains add up to real transformation as you stay consistent.

Josh makes it real for the class members… he has us actually get into situations with teammates so that we know how to handle ourselves both physically and mentally for when it's real.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Kurt Smith, Adult Student

Week after week, we learn different techniques from various forms of martial arts all while sticking with the basic fundamentals. Transitioning to Hybrid Martial Arts has been, without a doubt, one of the best decisions we’ve made.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Amy Cook, Family of Four that trains at Hybrid

"I'm a 53-year-old male. Life gets in the way and before you know it, 30 years has passed. Hybrid Martial Arts has given me the opportunity to get active again at my own pace. Wish I had started 30 years ago."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Andrew Jamison, Adult Student

How Progress Works

Practice. Competency. Mastery.

Growth doesn't happen by accident. It happens when there's a clear path to follow and a structure that keeps you on it.

01

Practice

You learn the technique first. It may feel awkward and unfamiliar, but that is normal.

02

Competency

With repetition and coaching, things start to click. You stop having to think so much and start feeling confident in yourself.

03

Mastery

What once took effort becomes instinct. You are able to piece techniques together and become a dynamic Martial Artist.

How Classes Are Built

Structured Sessions

Each class has a clear plan. Students don't see a technique once and then never practice it again. We believe that reps = results so you will constantly be refining your techniques.

How Skills Are Developed

2-Month Curriculum Cycles

Skills are introduced, practiced, and reinforced over an 8-week cycle. Enough time for things to actually stick before moving forward. This allows you to build competency, but not get bored.

How Progress Is Recognized

Belt Progression System

From White Belt to Black Belt, every level represents real development and growth. Every promotion holds you to specific standards so you actually need to work for your next level.

What We Teach

A Complete, Well-Rounded Skill Set

Our students don't learn one style. They build a strong, balanced foundation across four disciplines that complement each other and create a truly adaptable martial artist. That is the reason for the name "Hybrid".

01

Kickboxing

Striking fundamentals, footwork, and combinations. Builds coordination, fitness, and a sharp foundation on your feet.

02

Muay Thai

"The art of eight limbs." Knees, elbows, and clinch work layered on top of kickboxing foundations for a complete striking game.

03

Krav Maga

Practical self-defense built for real situations. Practical, efficient, and focused on getting you home safe.

04

Jiu Jitsu

Ground control, positioning, and submission defense. Confidence in every range, whether it is standing or on the ground.

Hybrid

This four-discipline approach is what makes our students different. They're not specialists in one style — they're adaptable, confident, and capable in any situation. That's the "Hybrid" in Hybrid Martial Arts. It is also what keeps training fun and exciting since there is also something new to focus on and improve.

The Standard

What a Black Belt Means Here

A Black Belt is a symbol of excellence. It's someone who has been shaped by the process of years of training. It means something different for everybody, but it is earned through consistency, discipline, and a commitment to themselves.

Our Mantra

I am Strong. I am Focused.
I am Kind. I am Important.

Strong

Strong enough to handle life's challenges. Strong enough to defend myself.

Focused

The ability to stay consistent and see things through. Focused on the things that improve my life.

Kind

Martial Arts begins and ends with respect. For myself and for others.

Important

A sense of self-worth that doesn't need to be earned from anyone else. That is why I train so hard.

For Kids

A child growing into a more confident, focused version of themselves. Someone who handles pressure and challenges better, respects others, and believes in their abilities. On their path to being a lifelong Martial Artist.

For Adults

An adult building real strength, consistency, and self-worth. Someone who shows up differently at work, at home, and in everyday life because of what they've built here. On their path to being a lifelong Martial Artist.

Why People Choose HMA

Four Reasons That Actually Matter

Clear Structure You Can See and Feel

There's a system here. And that system produces the results you are looking for. Every class has a plan, every 8-week cycle has a curriculum, and every belt represents real progress. That structure is what makes progress consistent and intentional.

Beginner-Friendly and Still Challenging

Anyone can start here. Most people start with zero experience. But beginner-friendly doesn't mean easy. Coaches push every student to improve at a pace that fits them. You leave each class having worked hard and improving yourself.

A Community That Doesn't Let You Feel Out of Place

No ego. No cliques. No intimidating atmosphere. You will feel that as soon as you step through our doors. We have heard other students being excluded or ignored at other schools - Not here. Everyone is welcome, and you will actually feel that.

Real Skill Development You Can Point To

This isn't fitness wrapped in a martial arts costume. At the core of everything we do here is Martial Arts and teaching you the skill of how to defend yourself and your family.

As someone who has never tried martial arts before coming here, I have had an incredible learning experience. I knew after one class that I would be signing up. Not only is everyone who attends extremely kind and helpful, the coaching is next level. Attending classes has given me the structure and discipline I was lacking in my fitness.”

- Kirstyn Pierce, Adult Student

Common Hesitations

We've Heard It Before

I'm not sure if this is right for me or my child.

That's exactly why we offer a free class. You can experience it before making any decision. No pressure, no pitch. Just come in and see how it feels.

I don't want something too aggressive or intimidating.

We focus on growth through structure, not through pressure or aggression. The culture here reflects that from the first minute you walk in.

I don't want something too easy or unproductive.

Classes are designed to challenge every student and help them improve every time. Beginner-friendly doesn't mean unchallenging — it means the right challenge at the right pace.

We're nervous to get started.

That's completely normal. Most people feel that way before their first class. And most of them walk out glad they went in. The first step is the hardest one.

🛡
Our Promise

Come to your first class - for yourself or your child. If it doesn't feel like the right fit, just say so. Everyone starts on the free trial. No awkward conversation or long sales pitch. We'd rather you leave with a good impression of us than feel like you were pushed into something that wasn't right for you.
