"Just being able to protect myself, protect my family. I think that's a necessity for any man."
- Shaun, Adult Student
Most People Want to Learn Self-Defense. Most Never Start.
You've thought about it, driven past the gym, or maybe even took a class back in the day, but you never stuck with it.
Most people take one self-defense class when they were younger years ago. Many people think they can defend themselves. But when it comes down to it can you actually defend yourself and your family? If you can't confidently say yes, you probably can't.
- Self-defense classes look aggressive and intense from the outside
- You're not sure if you're tough enough or athletic enough to keep up
- Some schools feel more focused on fighting than on actually keeping you safe
- You don't want to get hurt just trying to learn
- The culture at a lot of gyms makes it hard to feel like you belong there
So you never make the commitment for yourself. Even though part of you knows it's something you should do. Being able to defend yourself is literally a life-saving skill... and many people don't know it.
Self-Defense That's Practical
You don't have to train like a fighter to be able to defend yourself.
Our self-defense program is built on Krav Maga principles, the same system used by military and law enforcement worldwide, but taught in a way that's approachable for everyday people. We mix in our striking styles and practical ground defense so you have answers for real situations, not just controlled gym scenarios.
You're not here to become a fighter. You're here to learn what to do if something happens, and then get home safe. The culture here reflects that. No ego. No intimidation. Just solid training in a gym where everyone wants to see you succeed.
Safety and respect are built into every single class.
What You Start to Notice
You walk in unsure. That part is normal. But something starts to shift pretty quickly.
- ✓
You become more aware of your surroundings
- ✓
You know what to do if someone grabs you, pushes you, or takes you to the ground
- ✓
You carry yourself differently. There is no confidence like self-defense confidence that comes from actually knowing you can handle yourself
- ✓
Your fitness improves because you're moving with purpose and training consistently, not just going through the motions
- ✓
You start looking forward to class because the people here genuinely make it worth showing up
This isn't about becoming someone who looks for a fight. It's about knowing you could walk away from one or end one if needed.
Josh makes it real for the class members… he has us actually get into situations with teammates so that we know how to handle ourselves both physically and mentally for when it's real.

Week after week, we learn different techniques from various forms of martial arts all while sticking with the basic fundamentals. Transitioning to Hybrid Martial Arts has been, without a doubt, one of the best decisions we’ve made.

"I'm a 53-year-old male. Life gets in the way and before you know it, 30 years has passed. Hybrid Martial Arts has given me the opportunity to get active again at my own pace. Wish I had started 30 years ago."

our best value for members ready to commit
Every rate is right here so you never have to call around or sit through a sales pitch to find out what training costs. If you notice we're priced higher than most schools nearby, it's because small classes and coaches who know every student by name take real investment to deliver well, and we're not willing to cut corners on that. Numbers can only tell you so much though, so come try a class and feel the difference for yourself, at no cost and with zero pressure to decide anything afterward.
Training That Actually Prepares You
Skills That Work in Real Situations
Krav Maga was built for real life, not the gym floor. You learn techniques based on what actually happens, so you're prepared for any situation.
A Workout with Real Purpose
Every class is a full-body workout. But unlike a treadmill or the weights, you're moving with intention and learning a skill that matters. You get fit and capable at the same time.
Confidence That Carries Over
There is no confidence like self-defense confidence. This will show up in the way you walk, talk, and present yourself in your daily life.
What to Expect in Class
Krav Maga Foundation
The core of what we teach is built on Krav Maga, a system designed for real situations. You learn to what we call "A.R.S" which means automatic response systems. Respond to grabs, strikes, and threats without overthinking it.
Striking for Real Situations
We mix in our Muay Thai and Kickboxing striking so you have answers on your feet. Clean, practical, and effective so you can get home safely.
Practical Ground Defense
Most people panic on the ground. If a fight ends up going down, you need to know what to do. We cover the basics so you're never out of options.
Scenario-Based Drills
You don't just learn moves. You practice applying them in realistic situations so the response becomes natural. We don't train until it's right - We train until you can't get it wrong, regardless of the scenario.
A Gym That Actually Welcomes You
This is the most important part. Everyone here remembers what it felt like to walk in for the first time. Expect teammates who weclome you and learn your name.
“As someone who has never tried martial arts before coming here, I have had an incredible learning experience. I knew after one class that I would be signing up. Not only is everyone who attends extremely kind and helpful, the coaching is next level. Attending classes has given me the structure and discipline I was lacking in my fitness.”
- Kirstyn Pierce, Adult Student
We've Heard It Before
I'm not tough enough for a self-defense class.
Most people who come to us feel that way before they walk in. You don't need to be tough or confident to start. We help you build that here.
Self-defense training feels too aggressive.
Unfortunately, so will a real fight. The goal of your training is to teach you how and when to be aggressive and most importantly, how to avoid other's aggression. Training might feel aggressive, but it will always be safe.
I'm not in shape for this.
You don't need to be. We meet you at your level and build from there. As you stay consistent you will not only improve your skill level, but your fitness level,
I'm worried about getting hurt.
Safety and respect is built into everything we do. Controlled training, clear instruction, and a coaching team that keeps an eye on everyone. You're learning to protect yourself. Getting hurt in the process defeats the point.
“I am absolutely loving every moment on the mat at Hybrid Martial Arts! Each class is as informative as it is challenging. You sweat, you learn, and you smile every time. Coach Josh mixes Martial Arts knowledge with top-notch fitness coaching and turns you into a well-rounded martial arts athlete. All the while, the people around you genuinely support and cheer you on. Highly recommend!!”
